Held in the spring and fall, the UConn Career Fairs are multi-day events that attract thousands of professional participants and student attendees.
Avery Point Campus 50th Anniversary
On the Friday evening before the fall semester begins, all residential First Year students gather at the Torch Lighting Convocation ceremony to kick-off their college career at UConn. This is the first and only time that the class is (mostly) all together during their time at the University.
Every two years the Dodd Prize is awarded to a leader or group who has made a significant effort to advance the cause of international justice and global human rights. Many distinguished guests and speakers participate in the events and ceremonies associated with this prestigious award.

UECS provided Registration Services which included website building, badge creation and distribution, payment processing as well as staff presence throughout the conference.
The 2022 UConn Turfgrass Field Day offered exciting educational opportunities for turfgrass professionals of all levels. Cutting edge research in the areas of lawn care, sports, and golf turf management were presented and attendees had the opportunity to discuss ongoing research and management concerns with the UConn turf team. In addition to seeing the latest research results, turfgrass professionals interacted with exhibitors and discussed the latest developments and challenges in the industry.
Held at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, this conference provided opportunities for exchanging, discussing and enhancing the state-of-the-art techniques and recent developments in the fields of FGMs.
Taking place over several days in May in various locations around campus, Commencement ceremonies celebrate and honor undergraduate and graduate degree recipients. UECS serves as the official UConn Commencement Office and oversees most of the graduate, undergraduate, and honorary degree award ceremonies and events.
Held June 8-9, 2023, at the Storrs campus of The University of Connecticut in honor of Dr. Naitee Ting’s 70 birthday, the Dose Finding and Other Topics in Drug Development Conference brought together stakeholders from various scientific disciplines who sought to share research in a collegial environment for the advancement of dose-finding science in clinical trials. The conference also provided a collaborative environment for young researchers seeking to learn more about the field, develop networks, and connect with top researchers.
In collaboration with the City of Waterbury, and made possible by the UConn David and Joan Reed Faculty Fellowship, the 1st Annual W.I.S.H. Fest brought together students, activists, innovators, businesses, and community members to raise awareness and promote new ideas within the focus for this year: “W.I.S.H. for Well-Being: Emotional, Physical and Brain Health.”
Typically held in early December, the Winter Holiday Celebration is a popular end-of-year tradition honoring the hard work of UConn staff and faculty. After a four year covid-related hiatus, it returned in 2023 to much fanfare. Each year the Celebration has a unique theme; the 2023 theme was "Movies, Musicals, and Mittens." Attendees donated mittens which were distributed to local charities. The main event was the highly competitive gingerbread house building contest which was judged by President Maric and Provost D'Alleva.
Coordinated by the UConn Honors Program, this annual event is an opportunity for colleagues, students, and friends to celebrate the generosity and legacy of Lynne Goodstein and Peter Langer. The 2023 reception took place on a September evening in the Benton Museum of Art in the heart of the Storrs campus.
The 2024 First Tech Challenge (FTC) Connecticut State Championship Robotics competition was held on Saturday, February 17th in the Horsebarn Hill Arena on the Storrs campus. Teams of students designed, built, and programmed their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams in the day-long event.
Co-hosted by the University of Connecticut and Eversource Energy, the 2023 Clean Energy Summit took place in the UConn Storrs campus Student Union and brought together academic, utility, industry, municipal, and legislative experts to discuss the shifting energy landscape. The event included the final presentations from six student-led research teams as part of the Eversource-sponsored Clean Energy and Sustainability Innovation Program (CESIP).
The 2024 WOC US Team Trials took place on May 11, 2024 on the UConn Storrs campus. Orienteering is the sport of navigation, using a highly detailed map and working against the clock. Participants competed by navigating to checkpoints around campus, seeking to complete the course as quickly as possible in order to qualify to compete at the World Sprint Orienteering Championships in Scotland.
