With over 40,000 mouths to feed on any given day, you can bet that the UConn Campus has a wide variety of dining and catering options to choose from. In addition to what’s located on campus, there are several establishments within walking distance including those in Downtown Storrs.
University Catering is dedicated to providing the highest quality service to the faculty, staff, students & guests of the University of Connecticut. Services include served and buffet meals, receptions, coffee breaks, picnics & a la carte menu planning. The University Catering site contains a complete listing of menus and services. University Catering is the only entity permitted to serve alcoholic beverages in University buildings on the Storrs Campus and is the exclusive caterer for the Student Union and the Rome Commons Ballroom.
Dining in the residential operations of the campus offers a large variety of daily standard items and chef’s specialties. These operations include all you care to eat meals featuring extensive salad bars, several entrée selections, many beverage options and delicious desserts prepared in our in-house bakery.
Convenient group arrangements for any of our campus dining units are available. There are flexible hours of operation to meet your group’s needs. The dining units provide a sociable and energetic atmosphere at a reasonable cost.
The Student Union serves as the primary hub for a variety of food options. Full service dining is available at the Bistro On Union Street. The menu includes a variety of French inspired hors d’oeuvres, soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts.
Union Street Market is a six-concept eatery located in the Student Union Food Court featuring: Fire Side Rotisserie – Rotisserie meats served with a selection of fresh made side dishes; Pompeii Oven – Made to order pizza, pasta, baked grinders and other Italian specialties; Market Express – Pre-packaged “Express” options from all the Union Street Market concepts as well as specialty beverages, sushi, snacks and more; One Plate, Two Plates – Fast food served healthy and fresh; The Good Earth – Specialty salads and wraps, made to order; Tostada Grill – Made to order burritos, tacos and other fresh Mexican specialties; Union Street Café – A full line of espresso and coffee drinks, bakery items-made fresh daily, UConn ice cream and Freshens smoothies.
Dunkin Donuts and Subway can also be found alongside the Union Street Market in the Student Union Food Court.
UConn Dairy Bar Too is located next to the Bistron on Union Street and features take-out UConn Dairy Bar ice cream, slushies, popcorn, and assorted candy.
Nathan Hale Inn:
The Blue Oak is an award winning restaurant in the Nathan Hale Inn. American cuisine and regional favorites are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy a full-service breakfast with many choices, or an elegant white-tablecloth dinner setting. The Blue Oak Restaurant can accommodate parties of up to 12.
True Blue Tavern is for more casual dining which features a UConn athletic theme, capturing the spirit of University of Connecticut athletics. The True Blue Tavern offers a relaxing atmosphere and is the perfect spot to cap off the day with a beverage.

UConn Bookstore Cafe is located in the UConn Bookstore which brews Starbucks coffee and grab-and-go salads, sandwiches, and snacks. The Café also serves a variety of coffees, teas, espresso, specialty drinks and desserts.
UConn Dairy Bar is the home to UConn’s Award Winning ice cream. Over 21 flavors of ice cream, including seasonal favorites, made right on campus. Ice cream cakes, parfaits, pre-packaged gallons, local eggs, UConn made cheeses, and a variety of grab-and-go food items are also available.
Uniquely Caffeinated Cafes has five locations which offer delicious coffees, teas, espresso and specialty drinks, a delicious variety of hand-crafted “With the Grain” sandwiches and wraps, NOSH (Kosher) sandwiches made fresh daily, and available to purchase at Wilbur’s Cafe, and an excellent selection of delicious and healthy “Fresh Harvest” salads.
